Pace! (A Romanian greeting meaning peace)
We have less than four months until we hope to be leaving for Romania! God has been showing just how good He is in the last couple months and we are excited to say that we are currently at 73%! We’ve come a long way but there is still a long way to go! The LORD has been stirring in me to humbly ask if many of you could spend time praying and fasting for us in this season. Beginning June 18th and occurring every Tuesday and Wednesday until we leave in October, we are calling everyone to fast from after dinner on
Tuesday nights until dinner time on Wednesday nights. Just to clarify, you would be eating dinner on Tuesday, skipping breakfast and lunch on Wednesday and then breaking your fast by eating dinner on Wednesday. The times when you would normally be eating can be spent in prayer.
Our hope in these fasts is that we will all as a unified team collectively show the LORD, that we are dependent on Him for all we need. We need 27% more of our funds in order to be at 100%. Though God uses people to partner with missionaries, God is the ultimate provider and sometimes it takes something like a fast to wake us up to that reality! Our hope is also that in your time of fasting and prayer, that you will be more sensitive to the
LORD and that you will ‘taste and see that the LORD is good’ (Psalm 34:8). That you will delight in Him and worship Him as the Treasure He is! We are more concerned with your relationship with the LORD than with the rest of our support so even if we don’t get one more dime due to the fast, it will bring us far more joy if you have experienced a deeper satisfaction in the LORD! Please email us and share what the LORD teaches you during this time!
Here are a few notes about the fast:
-Don’t fast if you are pregnant or nursing
-If you want to fast but you need something to eat, drink a V-8 or eat a
granola bar. It will only take a minute or two and you’ll be able to pray
for the rest of your breakfast/lunch time.
-Pray through some of the Psalms to get your affections stirred for the
LORD. Psalm 119, 34, 37 and 63 are some great ones! As you read, take it
slow and turn it into a prayer when applicable
-Some prayer requests: motivation, pray against spiritual warfare, wise time
management, favor from the LORD regarding financial support, that we would
delight ourselves in the LORD!
